Why I Do Art
Artists have many reasons for making art. Maybe they want to design something that people will like. Maybe
they want to tell their story. Maybe they want to sell their craft. Maybe it's a combination of things.
Personally I make art because I want to enlighten people's lives and make a statement. I want to do better
for myself and share my beliefs with others who will listen.
I love to make art, and I love to share the things I've learned with others. I hope that they can learn
something from my story or realize something within themselves when viewing my work. Overall, I just want to
make something people can enjoy. I love to create and design, to make things that are interesting and
powerful.
When I first started to do art in kindergarten, it was large sheets of paper coated in brown paint. Because
"brown is every color" it would therefore, logically, be more colorful. All of this was to impress my
mother, she dutifully played the role of astonished parent. It was the first motivation I was ever given to
continue being creative. By senior kindergarten I had upgraded to poorly painting trees and birds.
For some time, I had lost my motivation to do art. From 2024-2025 I barely touched a pencil or a paintbrush.
Then I experienced psychosis, was hospitalized. and again it was my mother who encouraged me to take up a
pen and paintbrush. I was back in the saddle for a while, before I was informed about the IndigiTech
Program, and I was inspired to turn my art into a business, one where I could enrich the lives of other
people with art they would be able love and cherish.
At the time of writing this, I'm still currently in the first month of IndigiTech, and I'm still learning
about how to run a business. But I'm still doing art, it's not my only reason. I only hope that doing it as
a business means I can keep doing what I love, which is making art.
