This painting was the first painting I made after my experience with psychosis, representing the flowing nature of our mental states and the way that our thoughts intersect one another. It's similar to when you lose your train of thought, it's your psyche floating down another river.

This painting represents the external forces that dot our lives, changing how we view the world and adding to our experince as people. I also happen to love the rain, and this painting acts as an homage to mother nature.

With mental health, it's easy to feel like you're losing control or like you're not in tune with your mental state. When we don't get answers this can lead to frustration and disappointment, and we may feel like we're spiraling.

There are few more beautiful things than the human struggle. This painting represents that the chaos of both life's larger and smaller struggles still mean something to us, even if they don't to others. Struggle, I feel, is what gives our triumphs meaning. I also struggled to get a clear photo, haha.
